So back when Crow and Mike first met Mike pretty much immediately liked him--I mean yes, Mike immediately likes almost everyone, but Crow came from a similar base background of liking stupid stunts and driving really fast. Someone who understands!! So that alone was enough to get Mike to seek him out on a more usual bases, being more than happy hanging with someone with similar interests. And it's paid off! Mike was introduced to Yusei, they learn different vehicle related noise from each other, and generally goof off together very well! Crow's presence has also been a constant over the last year, which has slowly worked him up from Mike's genuine, but very loose and detached category of "friend," someone he actually likes, but knows they'll move on sooner or later and wouldn't be too fussed over. Crow's above that now, very solidly in a Close Bro zone.
Which is why it's so damn hard for Crow to get any real information out of Mike! Despite their friendship, Mike feels like he still has to keep a thin bubble up, his problems are his own! Dropping them on someone else feels selfish to him, a person who just wants to support others, and part of him just doesn't want to open up that much, as it's a sign of being too attached. Way back when, Jim probably knew the most about Mike, but then they had a falling out, and Jim disappeared before Mike could fix it. He still feels awful about it, and doesn't want to do that to someone else. Rin is the only other person to get backstory out of Mike, and that was due to some hard pressing.
But back to Crow!! Mike doesn't want to bother him with his problems, and wants to support this guy as long as he can until they both inevitably go their seperate ways. He wants Crow to get back an see his kids! And the best path to that is helping keeping Crow in good spirits here, which is why Mike's will always jump to offer some antics and a distraction. Crow also feeds into Mike's bad decision making, so while not intentional, helping Crow also helps Mike cut loose and just give in to his danger junkie tendencies. BOTH BENEFIT in a loose definition of benefit that usually ends with regret in the morning. He's someone Mike can cut loose and have fun with, and that's really important to him.
There are some things that are both endearing yet confusing to Mike--his play flirting, and eventually the reveal that he gets off on drowning people while Crow you need an outlet--but in all honestly he doesn't see anything all that bad about Crow. He's just a really solid, emotional guy in Mike's opinion!! Of course they've never had a real argument before so I'd be curious to see how that'd play out.
But tl;dr Crow has become such a good bro that Mike's pretty much closed the gates on any personal info escaping in an attempt not to rock the boat. It can be dragged out of him, but it'll take a little more effort on Crow's part.

Mike leov Rin!! They had a pretty rocky start, back when Rin was rightfully doubtful and hesitant, but given that Rin didn't keep being stubborn at Mike, that gave him the indication that he was a pretty good guy. Just sort of justifiably confused and frustrated at the moment! And after watching Rin's first big freak out when he drowned someone as a kelpie, it was a really grounding moment for Mike. Rin is very, very Normal and empathetic, and it's both refreshing to see and a good reminder to Mike about where they've all come from. A lot of his friends (and himself) have slipped into that more monstery mindset, but Rin keeps a good balance of what he has to do as a monster vs he is still human very well, and Mike both envies and respects that.
RIN IS ALSO REALLY DANG CLEVER AND SMART. I mean Mike knew he had a good head on a his shoulder, but Rin balances logic and doing things for fun like a pro. Mike was also thrown for a loop when Rin pressed him on his history, and tried his darndest to turn it back around on Rin with no success. It's an extremely weird feeling for Mike to be put in an emotionally vulnerable place because he tries so hard to be the support pillar for others, and doesn't really know how to react when the act is returned to him. But Rin listened, and wasn't harsh or especially aggressive about it! It helped ease a lot of growing tension on Mike's shoulders, and gave him an outlet he didn't know he needed. He considered Rin a friend before, but thanks to that act, Rin's pretty much won Mike's loyalty from here on out. YOU NEED A THING, RIN? Mike will do it for u.
Of course he's just gonna put a tighter lid on things that bother him now so that doesn't happen again, but pfft, a problem for another day.
Overall Rin's just a REALLY GOOD GUY and Mike is hoping that he and Haru and all their friends get home again some day because wow they don't deserve to be in this mess.

That said, his overall view of the harpy is that he's well meaning and positive, but overly naive. Early on they someone butted heads on clashing morality guidelines, and to this day Apollo still doesn't budge on them. When Shulk was briefly a Shade it put Apollo in an awkward spot--SURE IT PROVED THAT HE'S RIGHT, and murder is murder and we're all horrible monsters that need to die, but seeing the usually peppy RPG hero have a mild breakdown was also kind of hard to watch.
So that, along with a couple other instances, actually helped Apollo sort of.......chill out on calling people murderers. HE STILL DOES IT SOMETIMES, because he's Apollo and will always tell you like it is, but after Shulk's moral dillema it was a bit of a wake up call, and people's mental stability kind of trumps him being right about the whole murder thing.
And as said on plurk, it is very, very difficult to break Apollo's social barrier. Shulk never quite managed that! Apollo likes him, sure, but files him away as Someone Slightly Better than the Rest in his mental court record. Even after Shulk helped save him back in the freaky BB fog event, Apollo just sort of rationalized the action as Shulk being a Hero type, and he'd do that for anyone. I'm not special, gosh!!
So long story short Apollo likes Shulk in a way of watching a puppy try its best to be the best puppy ever only for it to run into a rattlesnake and get its eye bitten out but gosh dangit that puppy is still trying. He hopes Shulk just...continues to be okay, and doesn't snap eventually. He's a good guy, he doesn't deserve this shit.
Mike only had that ONE BAD THREAD I recall BUT WHAT A THREAD.
On Mike's side of things, he isn't too bothered by what transpired. HE SURE MURDERED A DUDE. Being angry at murder is a Normal reaction, and he forgets that sometimes. And while he found Shulk to be hypocritical, he could see where the bird was coming from too. He didn't want to argue with him because in the end, HE'S in the wrong and they are bad guys!! It just flies over his head just how casual he seems to be about the whole thing. He sees Shulk as one hella conflicted fellow and gosh maybe he just needs a friend.
That said he's noticed Shulk in the background here and there and does want to speak with him again. On an OOC level I do because Mike has no idea that Yusei and Shulk are an item. Sorry for enabling your man to give into his dragon instincts and eat the shit out of people!!

Stocke is another constant grounding figure for Mike. While he's never opened up to Stocke like a couple others, he's never seen a reason he really needs to. Even before Mike became an official delivery dog for the Devil's Nest, he's regarded Stocke as sort of a business acquaintance/his Sane friend. He's dependable, logical, and just OVERALL GOOD? Mike also still feels indebted to Stocke for stopping his revival rampage, and if he was called on for a favor, Mike would probably do it in a heartbeat. Stocke is also the only shade Mike would let possess him willingly--he trusts him enough not to actually manipulate him into doing something.
Still, Stocke is also a go to for just some chill, stress free interaction. Way back when the carnival happened, Mike LOVED just having a companion to play dumb carnival games with, and more recently, introducing Stocke to cars has just opened up the floodgates. Stock strikes Mike as someone who knows how to balance out work and play, and always seems to be level headed no matter what he's doing. That said, the only reason Stocke isn't Mike's default first person to go to for antics is because Stocke seems to have his shit together. While he's still loose and casual, Mike is far better behaved around Stocke than some of his friends, because he respects the guy too much to accidentally tick him off or mess up something he's got going (like with his FLESHBOOK quest or in the mirror maze). He recognizes Stocke's got a load of history on his shoulders he's not too keen talking about, and Mike's content to let that be so long as his history isn't poked either.
As of their last thread, Mike's also a little more curious about how Shades and their soul eating/revenge seeking works. It was a new side of Stocke to see and it seemed fitting but also pretty dang intimidating. He would not want to be on the bad end of a soul hunt.
tl;dr Stocke is sort of a cool senpai to Mike lets hang more.

\o/ Yes let them hang out more. Teach him more car tricks. (Also I am still GOING FOR THAT TEMPORARY WOOFENING once I save up like 4 more coins, let's have them run around as woofs)

So Kaito ended up becoming one of Apollo's closest acquaintances (the other close runners being Ginko and Adachi before they left), and one key difference from most of his other CR, is that Apollo viewed Kaito as an actual teenager/vaaaague little brotherish stand in because he initially reminded Apollo so much of Trucy. He was a pretty tolerable presence, and shoot, he helped Apollo get his first job! So overall, Apollo's initial impression was "Huh, that's a pretty good kid."
BUT THEN KID COMES INTO THE PICTURE.
So that night after Kaito murdered someone and revealed Kid's manifestation as a split personality, it was kind of a game changer! Apollo accepted it pretty easily because, welp, monster land and he's seen some crazy ass witnesses over the years. WHY NOT SPLIT PERSONALITIES. However it was this event that triggered Apollo to keep a closer eye on Kaito and not to dismiss him completely as just another wacky acquaintance in his life.
On Kaito's end of things, Apollo can understand a lot of his logic and drive to avenge his father. I mean he did allow Aura to just hold an entire space center hostage while he used an unofficial trial to try and drag out the truth of what happened to his bestie. OOPS. Still, just with how good hearted Kaito seemed, Apollo's utterly convinced that he wants to get out of that grey area, but seems bound by vengeance/honor/whatever. Kaito's intentions are good, as evidenced by his jewel to revive others, Apollo just worries about the path he takes to achieve said intentions.
And then there's Kid. While not completely intimidated, Apollo never really trusted kid until their confrontation as a manticore. He seemed like an exaggerated bundle of all of Kaito's worst traits, all amplified with misdirected confidence and a need for danger. The exact kind of cocky personality Apollo would usually loathe! But ultimately Kid is a part of Kaito, and Apollo truly believes he's far from being the dominant personality, which logically means if Kaito's a good guy, Kid can be too.
And him not killing Apollo in the jewelry store finally proved that to him. As of that night, he's far more willing to talk to Kid and even try to negotiate with him. Still, he wouldn't be surprised if Kid like, knifed him or something at some point but that's mostly because Apollo figures everyone will disappoint him eventually. No big deal!!
A lot of this stems from many of Apollo's friendships either abruptly ending horribly (Clay) or having something murder related happen that severely damaged his trust (Kristoph, all of his guilty of another crime clients, Athena, Phoenix's manipulation, etc). With Kaito and Kid, Apollo saw someone about to spiral downwards, into a scenario Apollo's seen many times, and, well! He's really sick of watching it happen, and with someone like Kaito, someone that Apollo at least likes enough, he'll do all he can to prevent it. And Kid/Kaito actually listen. The fact that his words actually got through a few times not only reassured Apollo that Kaito's a good person, but also validated him in the sense of hey, maybe he can make a difference and help people here.
And idk he's sort of unconsciously decided to designate himself as Kid and Kaito's Jiminy Cricket of sorts. But instead of singing about stars he just loudly yells "stop toeing the line of becoming a murderer damnit/you're gonna get yourself killed please stop."
Moral arguments aside, despite having near heart attacks Apollo doesn't mind it too much when Kaito or Kid is pulling a prank, so long as no one really gets hurt. It's refreshing in away, reminding him of all the craziness from back home, too. He'd probably let Kaito use him as a prop on stage if asked nicely. He was also kind of baffled yet touched that Kaito came to his aid during the crazy BB fog too. Sure Kaito was kind of unhinged at the time but anyone putting their life on the line for Apollo is always going to get a little dere from him. He should be the one needlessly throwing himself in front of danger, gosh!!
IN SHORT Apollo really likes Kaito in a pseudo little brother way and wishes the best for him, and when I drop him he's probably gonna leave something for him. IDK WHAT YET BUT SOMETHING.
...
Meanwhile Mike's probably put two and two together now with who Kaito is because they've bumped into each other a lot and also he knows his scent pretty well now haha. BUT there's no good reason for him to call it out, so he's probably just like 'welp there goes that goblin slash mermaid dude again I hope he's not tying anyone up tonight.'

MY TURN TO TL;DR--
Kaito at first considered Apollo to be "yet another lawful acquaintance" that he just can't seem to get away from. I mean come on: first a police inspector's daughter, then an actual detective, now a lawyer?? He just needs to befriend a judge and he'll have the whole set. But he doesn't let occupation get in the way of judging people and, based on first impressions, he thought Apollo was an interesting guy: passionate like him and willing to do whatever in order to stay on top of things. Plus it's a given he'd be a good guy, being an attorney, right? That all gets reinforced with the few times they meet during Kaito's transformations. Apollo comes off as a dependable sort. A bit stiff when it comes to having fun, but that's nothing he can't cure, he thinks.
Revealing Kid isn't something he ever planned to have happen for...obvious reasons. I think Apollo may have had the dubious honour of being close second to discovering Kaito = Kid (Rio claiming first spot on Christmas Day). When that secret came out, Kaito was terrified about what Apollo would think of him and it was compounded with the sudden new reality that Kid existed. Not only was he not who he said he was but now he was also (apparently) insane! Except Apollo drove right through his panicking, gave him the verbal equivalent of a wake-up slap, and took the news a lot better than Kaito thought he would.
Coming clean with the whole story later was actually rather therapeutic. It means a lot to him that Apollo didn't immediately jump on him and berate him about the illegality of what he's been doing. He listened and tried to understand, while reminding him about certain lines that no-one should ever cross.
So now Apollo is firmly on the tier of 'trusted friend', and believe me, there's not many people who can get there. He sees Apollo as something of a grounding force: someone to turn to if things start getting out of hand. Apollo is also the main reason Kaito feels more confident in confessing his identity to his childhood friend if she ever appears here or he goes back home.
...And now, Kid.
Kid, by comparison, is utterly cynical of just about everything and everyone he meets. Their first, real meeting could have taken place in much better circumstances but that's Ryslig for you. He considers Apollo an acquaintance at best, a possible obstacle at worst. The guy had the misfortune to be present at a very bad time and Kid also wasn't happy that their next interaction continued in the vein of revealing his/Kaito's secret. Which means Kid's early experiences painted Apollo in a nosy, interfering sort of light. Apollo likes to ferret out the truth, but Kid's entire persona is built on keeping the truth hidden so it's natural that he's wary around a lawyer.
However, Kaito IS the dominant personality. Kid has to trust that Kaito knows whom he's placing his trust in, even if he doesn't like it. Apollo's decision to leave himself completely open to attack that one time despite Kid's threats makes Kid think the guy is...a little bit of an idiot. No, make that a lot. Ironically he sees a lot of Kaito in Apollo, particularly when it comes to that earnest sort of way he wears his emotions sometimes. Frustrating though it is, he can't hate him entirely.
While Kid's final assessment of Apollo is still pending the conclusion of their little magic training session, he's slowly coming around to the idea that Apollo is trustworthy and that he really does only have Kaito's best interests in mind. If nothing else, the assurance that Apollo just seems to want honesty from the people he deals with is going some way to helping him determine a comfortable middle-ground.
And as for Mike, Kaito's impression is that he's a chill guy. The biker image kind of colours his perception a bit right now. Kid thinks he's an amusing distraction and is keeping an eye on him in case he tries to interfere with things again like the last time they met.
